Dr. Steven F. Sopher, Founder and Chairman of the Board

Dr. Steven F. Sopher serves as chairman of the board and senior consultant to Eyemaginations. A practicing optometrist in Baltimore for more than 33 years, Dr. Sopher shares insights from his extensive clinical experience. His practice serves as a valuable laboratory for new product launches and other R&D efforts. He is also a frequent speaker on topics such as practice management.   

Dr. Sopher also has a unique background in software engineering and database design, writing one of the first optometric practice management systems in 1979. He holds a degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Jeffrey W. Peres, President and CEO 

As president and CEO of Eyemaginations, Jeffrey Peres oversees day-to-day operations at the company. His responsibilities include business development, strategic planning, channel management and distribution. Since joining Eyemaginations in 2005, Mr. Peres has built the management team, opened new medical verticals and established the company’s international operations.  

For 8 years prior to joining Eyemaginations, Mr. Peres worked as an investment banker for UBS, Credit Suisse First Boston and a small boutique advisory firm. During this time, he participated in a number of strategic initiatives for corporate clients in the U.S. and abroad. Mr. Peres worked on a variety of transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, IPOs and leveraged buyouts. 

He holds a B.A. degree from Cornell University, and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

James M. Dale

Before forming Richlin/Dale LLC with Gar Richlin in August of 2005, from 1995 to 2005, Mr. Dale ran his own marketing consultancy, working with a variety of businesses including automotive aftermarket, internet commerce and marketing, law firms, banks, magazines, telecommunications, and venture capital companies.

Prior to his marketing firm, Mr. Dale was in the advertising agency business, having risen from copywriter to President and CEO of W.B.Doner & Company. In the time that he was with the company, W.B.Doner grew from a regional agency with two offices, Detroit and Baltimore, to a global agency with offices throughout the U.S. and Europe, billing over $500,000,000, representing clients such as BP, Chiquita, Klondike Ice Cream, Arby's Restaurants, Ford, Coca-Cola, and Fila.

Mr. Dale also created an internationally distributed line of humorous greeting cards and has written or co-written several books, including The Power of Nice - Negotiating So Everyone Wins, Especially You, Tiger Woods Made Me Look Like a Genius, Palmer & Weaver - Together We Were Eleven Foot Nine, and Bullies, Tyrants, and Impossible People - How to Beat Them Without Joining Them.

Mr. Dale received his BA (with honors) from the University of Michigan.

Bruce E. Kauffman

Bruce E. Kauffman is the senior partner of Kauffman and Forman, P.A. Mr. Kauffman has practiced law for thirty years, representing various countless businesses and individuals on a wide range of legal issues. Mr. Kauffman's primary focus is business and corporate law. 

Mr. Kauffman counsels businesses on day to day matters such as labor and employment issues, contracts, and regulatory compliance, as well as the structuring of complex corporate transactions, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Kauffman is particularly experienced in the representation of medical, ophthalmology and dental professionals. He also lectures frequently on a variety of topics of interest to the medical field. Mr. Kauffman was recently acknowledged as one of Maryland's Legal Elite in the August 2006 issue of SmartCEO Magazine for his legal experience and expertise.

Mr. Kauffman received his JD from the University of Baltimore and his BS degree from the University of Maryland.
